Evacuation Preparedness: Home Inventory

Like was discussed in the 10 Minute Challenge, you would need to have a record of your home inventory for insurance purposes.  Many times homeowners fail to get all what they should from the insurance company because they did not have a full inventory of what was in their homes when the fire broke out.  As you complete this week's two-part task allow your sense of peace at your preparedness to increase.

This week's task
  1. Put the name of each room in your home at the top of a sheet of paper or in a spreadsheet on a flash drive.
  2. Set aside 5-15 minutes each day over the upcoming week and take an inventory of the items in the living room.

Each week as a second part to the weekly tasks we are going to take an inventory of each room until we've covered every room of the house.

Hi Jenn,
What a great blog you have! It is so needed to be prepared for emergencies. I was just looking over information about essential oils and disasters, how to be prepared to deal with injuries if a disaster struck..Also, the women writing the book mentioned that in an emergency the regular medication may run out. So it is important to know how to use natural remedies since most are not allowed to stock pile their medications they use.

Hi Jo,
Thanks. You are so right. Knowing how to use natural remedies is definitely needed knowledge when it comes to being prepared since medicines have expiration dates and may not be available at the time.
